About
David Wilstermann started his career as a builder, creating 3-D materials, and later expanding into painting. Wilstermann found inventive applications for his art resources ranging from oil, oil stick, acrylic, pastel, crayon, pen, sawdust to colored pencil and more. In his evolving practice, Wilstermann expands the possibilities of abstraction, while at times referencing figuration and landscape in highly personal ways. His paintings evoke a sense of surreal peace and mystery for the voyeur to translate. The artist lives and works in Ottawa, Canada.
